Australian V-8 Supercars

Recommended Posts

I was just watching them on speed channel. The Fords were running what appeared to be -4 to -5 degrees camber, seemed like an awful lot for a purpose built race car. The Holdens looked more like -2 to -3, a little more realistic. Then the announcer comes on and says that the Fords have the better front suspension design, sure didn't look like it to me.

Holdens have a macpherson strut. Fords have a long-short arm double wishbone set up. Technically the ford should be better. Next year the are all going to run the ford set up. It getting to the stage where they might as well build up a space frame and just put on the body of choice. bonk.gif It would be a lot cheeper for them.

Yep, all in the name of parity, Ford have been getting upset because they mostly lose. smile.gif

On the big camber, it works for them, they all have power steering and braking does not suffer unduly. Because the racing is so close, suspension setup is crucial on those cars.
