cyrus
My 325 HP 240z rolls right then left about 1 per sec under hard acceleration. It feels scary. I know the pass. side rear wheel has about 2 deg of toe in. I wonder if that causes it. I do not know if the arm is bent or what. Any suggestion or experience with this. Stock suspension is worn. cyrus
katman
325 hp in a 2400 lb car is supposed to be scary...but you probably need new bushings and an alignment, maybe new shocks too. Is i really "roll" about a longitudinal axis or "yaw" about a vertical axis?
jt1
That's a new one on me. My GUESS would be a combo of too much rear toe in, worn/soft rear suspension bushings, and worn/soft shocks. Any unusual noises when it does it?
Dan Juday
Dude, sounds like fun to me. Don't do anything. In fact, I think i'll set up my car that way. Unusual noises? Scottie-GNZ
I know the pass. side rear wheel has about 2 deg of toe in.... Stock suspension is worn. I think you might have answered your own question. I would suggest you try and correct the rear suspension. As Katman says, a 325hp 1st-gen Z is scary enough. cyrus
It rolls coaxial to the crank shaft. I think the tires are alternating traction....
Dan Baldwin
In addition to the above comments, Could also be a blown rear shock (i.e., plenty of damping on one side, NO damping on the other). Check your gland nuts (big nuts on top of the strut body), too. They can and do come loose, and cause suspension monkey motion if they do. Feels like a blown damper. Pop N Wood
... check your gland nuts (big nuts ... NO NO NO! Keep both hands on the wheel when this is happening! You already know you have a pair when the tires light up!
