stony
I need some sort of aftermarket speed sensor for my car. The EMS im using needs a speed input for stuff like launch control ect ect. Edlebrock and FAST make this thing that goes around the rear-end yoke and uses magnets and would have been perfect BUT it’s for a 9 inch and im using a DANA which is different. I figured I could spend hours looking for something or I could just ask here and probably get an answer in a few days. The fast and edlebrock sensors look identicle. Here is the edlebrock one on summitracing. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=EDL-91195 Anyways any help would be appreciated
Trevor
I have seen similar kits for mounting aftermarket cruise control, race car data logging, digital speedomoeters.... however, I always pictured them mounting the magnets to the driveshaft tube, not the yoke. The front (transmision) yoke seems like a pretty good idea, as long as you can center a 1.875" - to - 2" collar ring around it. That might require you to turn the yoke in a lathe for a tight fit. http://www.powertraincontrolsolutions.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=101 Here is a slightly dfferent application, with some electronics theory, again sensing at the differential yoke: http://www.beaststwo.org/truck/index.shtml
