b__sosick
recently it has been starting weird... when you turn the key all the way it turns over once or twice, then completely stops for a half a second, and then turns over and starts after that. is this an electrical issue or does it just need new spark plugs or something? every time i start it, the usual small things that happen w hen a battery dies happens...the digi clock resets to 12:00, and the radio station presets reset. car in question is a 1999.5 Jetta 2.0 auto thanks in advance
Pop N Wood
Clean your battery posts. Then get rid of the Volkswagen and buy a different car. Electrical problems and Jetta's go together like white on rice. Kind of a shame to cause they are nice looking cars.
SuperKid
Check your battery cables and connections at the starter as well. If your wires are frayed at either end of the cables, replace them.
JSM
You could have a cell going bad in the battery too. Definitly clean the cables. I'm pretty sure Wal-mart will give you 100% refund on batteries within the first couple days.
