silver280zx
Ive looked around, and i cant find anything about the s130 rear crossmember. Im trying to figure out if you can replace the rear crossmember insulators with the crossmember in the air, or if i have to take the crossmember off to do it. SHADY280
its gonna be the easiest to do it with the x member outta the car, they are not easy to do. ive done it. trust me. just unbolt the diff, and shocks, brake lines, and the rear x memeber, the whole thing comes out as one big unit, then start dismantling, or do it bolted together. depends how seized they are. this is also your chance to take it apart, do the ureathane bushings and paint it up nice. grab a rear sway bar upgrade while your at it!! silver280zx
do you recomend painting everytihing? ive already got poly bushings and new swaybars and threy are amazing. now on the insulators, i could only find rubbe3r ones. my existing insulator has rotten away, and there is only th espring left inside . lol so its about time. silver280zx
im not going to ha ve to unbolt the thing from the floor am i? just from the bottom of the car right?
Warren
If I'm not mistaken, the bolts are 1 solid piece, threaded on both ends...turning the bottom nut will turn the top one with the bolt itself. It appears, you'll have to hold the top one (inside the car) while loosening the bottom one (outside the car). Figure shown here, is a breakdown. The figure linked above is a little misleading, as it doesn't show where the floor of the car actually goes. The floor of the car is actually ABOVE Part #7. I was able to obtain NEW bushings (part #2 in the figure above) from Nissan, however, the round serrated pads that go above the crossmember (part #7 in the figure above) are NLA. Good luck finding those. Hope it helps, Warren
silver280zx
So what did you end up doing for part 7?
Warren
Mine weren't torn up or anything so I simply reused them. They should be in good condition on your car, unless somebody's been doing Monster Jam with it.
