Guest endlessmaxima
I did an engine swap (from 90sohc to 93sohc both autos) everything but injector plugs went OK ...plugs are diff on 93 so I got wiring harness from 93 and now I cant get it to start... could it be the ecu ...I'm getting spark but when I pull the plug its dry...so Iam not getting fuel...to the injectors ...Right ?? I don't know ...Iam on a budget and cant figure this out its Ive been without a car for over 2 1/2 mo. Any info would help.... Thanks .....endlessmaxima
Dayz
Hi, You could have put the older intake manifold on it - hence being like stock. Now it can be many things, check if you have spark, fuel, air, every electrical sensors are plugged and all the vacuum are there. I wouldn't suggest starting to change parts, because if you put a defective one it will be very hard to find which one it is. Dayz
Guest endlessmaxima
I'm getting spark but when I pull the plug its dry, So I know its a fuel issue. I'm thinking its the ecu not sending the correct pulses .... What I want to know since I've put in a 93 motor in should I put in a 93 ecu. As for the Intake they were the same ...the only prob Ive had is the Injector plug on a 90 is some what square... and on a 93 they are more round or oval... Is it possible that the ecu that I have now (90ecu) could it be stuck in a Dino. mode and not working properly ...and is there a way to reset it ... other then the obvious dis conn. batt. And I agree Dayz I don't want to buy an array of electrical parts with no chance in taking them back. Wonder if I should have just went and bought a running car. By the time I get this one running Ill have over 600.+ in just motor swap not counting labor or over all time invested in it ... Any suggestions Dayz ...keep them coming I feel like it could be something simple ..that I may be overlooking ..... Thanks again , enlessmaxima ...probs...haha
Dayz
Fuel should be very easy to check: Fuel pump working- Injectors working.Check if you got both. Get yourself the wiring diagram for both and see if there is a difference. Yes, ECUs are different on top of my head. Injectors are also different. Try with a junkyard ECU, but since you are going the cheap route and you knew everything was working prior to the engine change, why don't you put back the old Intake manifold? I believe the SOHC Engine changed in 1992, probably different Intake. Dayz
nismopu
with the key on and power to the ecu, pull the dizzy out and spin it to make sure you can hear the injectors clicking. You will know if theyre working then. peace.
