dat240zg
Just like the title says, I'm getting ready to mount my overflow tank and am curious what others have done. Bryan Dat240zg Count down is on! The beast will be running by new years day....or else!!!
Bartman
Bryan, I got a stainless steel unit that you can see at the bottom of this pic just in front of the AC compressor. I don't recall the exact size, but it's pretty fairly large.
wheelman
Bart, Is that an expansion tank or just an overflow? When I first got my car running I was using an overflow and kept losing coolant as it wouldn't get pulled back into the radiator when it cooled. I bought a really cheap universal expansion tank that cured the problem but it leaks whenever I corner hard, the cap doesn't seal very well. Anyway I'm going to replace it with a tank from something else. As soon as I find one I like I'll post pictures. Wheelman
Griz
This tank is a regular auto parts store large tank. It works well and is mostly hidden froward of the radiator. Simple to plumb and it doesn't leak, even during autocross runs. Pardon the poor paint, this was taken during the create-a-front-clip part of the body work. dat240zg
Thanks for the pics guys. I purchased a billet tank and am going to mount it on the passenger side of the radiator support. Bryan
Pyro
Here is an easier way to make an overflow tank. Notice the custom positioning of the Castrol engine oil bottle. Sorry, couldn't resist.
