Guest TKR514
I still need to raise the rear in my 79ZX, but started to wonder if springs from the 2+2 would do the trick. Arn't those springs a bit stiffer to cary the "extra" weight in the 2+2?
Guest greimann
I don't have data about spring rates, but a good set of high pressure gas shocks usually boosts the rear ride height a little. KYB and Tokico are two good brands.
Mudge
2+2 is stiffer yep, I think the fronts are 30% stiffer so the rear must be about the same?
Nismo280zEd
ok so i'm doing some late night math tryn' to figure out some spring rates and crap. Cany anybody tell me the spring rates for 78 2+2 stock springs front and rear?
Guest Anonymous
Nismo: Somewhere in the archives are the 2+2 spring rates.. If you are good at math: the JTR manual sez that the 2+2 rear spring is about 200 pounds per inch after the spring is cut 3 1/4 coils and the stock ride height can be maintained on the cut spring by moving the spring perch up 2 1/2 inches. I say cut 2 1/2 coils and place them on the car. Should have about 185 # springs about a 1/2 inch lower ride height
