mikeatrpi Posted January 13, 2008 Share Posted January 13, 2008 OK fellas, I need some purchasing advice. I found a guy parting an 87 z31 turbo. He is asking 100, add 20 shipping for the turbo unit. I can tell its a T3 based on the photos he sent; I know the archives here say 86 was the last year for the T3 but this site says 87 was. They have photos T25 side by side with a T3. Anyway - he cut the downpipe forward of the O2 bung, just after the exhaust housing. My question is for people who have done the z31 swap - Prox and others - would you say that's a deal breaker? What material is the housing made of, and can I weld my own pipe to it? If I make my own downpipe, do I need to somehow fit in the wastegate actuator? Looking for any advice you've got.
