sir_daniel
this is a summary of what have happend to the car since i bought it 2003 25th of april.... The car is Datsun 280zx 2+2 1980. They are not the common here in Sweden where i live (not too far from Mull if you have seen his project of his 240z. when i bought it it was either me or the scrap yard that was going to be the next owner... the last owner was going to start restoring the car for his son's, but they didn't like the car... after changing the oil, cleaning the contacts to the starting enbine, sparkplugs and the broken ignitinon wire did the car runt like a.... welll it was running after a better service of changing all oils, cleaning, contacts and ignition wires and also tuning the valves, did the car sound as it should. go this car to be a partcar for my other 280zx 2+2 1980 but with a targa, rust free and also 80000km on the clock... but hence the car did look like crap did i get help to get a new paint on the car.... bad mistake the car looked too good to be used on the tracks and get demolished (did take the interior and change to the other datsun, hence that one is a califronia import did i have sun burned interior and the "part car" had the same interior but in good condition.) some pics of the paint job (the first one) hence we had about 4 days to do the whole paint incl. sanding it down and put on filler did the result not get as good as it should have bin. the front fenders looked bad so i put "some" graphic's on it that didn't stay for long (about 5-6 month), during that time did i start to do an audio installation with a 10" subwoofer in the trunk with a carbonfiber covered subwooferbox. the end result of that installation. that was the end of 2003 2004 tha graphics went and was replaced, also replaced the front fenders and also got me a bodykit from zcarparts.com (expensive freight to Sweden ) 2004 was the year of the aluminium wings here in Sweden also continued the audio installation with making new door cards. late that year did the car get scratched with a key on the front left fender and left side of the roof... that didn't make it as fun to ride it so the car was put away in my garage. later that winter the car was sanded down to get a new paintjob, also started to rebuild the interior to get it more like i wanted it... due to my job (Officer in the Swedish Navy) wasn't i home that much and it took 1.5 year until it was out on the streets again.... so during the that time did this happen.... paint. Rear seat was replaced with a subwooferbox that holdes an Audiobahn 15" subwoofer. also needed to change the armrest to make it look better. Some covers to connect to the subwooferbox was made. the standard speaker mounts was removed not too far left.... the armrest is almost done new cover for the trunk is beeing made (cut it apart about 10 times until i was pleased with it....) parts beeing primed not too far away to be covered with beige leather. leather time shifter cover was also covered with beige leather. covers for the subwooferbox was covered with beige leather. some parts in the interior was painted in the same colour as the car. mounted also made a new carped, much better than that ugly blue one... more parts covered with black suede. door cards covered with black vinyl bodykit is beeing mounted. not much left until the car is back on the road some new front seats. made some spacers to fit the new wheels. bought me a carbonfiber spoiler. the standard taillights doesn't look that much fun so i made a new set... molded together the standard taillights with taillights from a Nissan skyline R33. got me a set of gauges that was put in the standard gauge hole. but hence the car was now green did i want the gauges to have the same colour, so the LED was replaced. made a new lid for the glovebox to be able to mount a indash monitor there. gauges also mounted (note the voltmeter in the steerinwheel(!) ) In 2006 was the car ready for the road again got some new graphics for it. before. after the new taillights mounted. some misc. pictures. got the car in some magazines. during 2006 and 2007 did the car tour Sweden and visited different carshows. I also built me a Civic hb that one is now sold.
