Dayz
Guys, I am ready to rebuild a stock L24. I need rings, bearings, seals...Are the ones from BlackDragon any good? or should I buy those from someone else. Any advise on these parts would be great. I want to make sure I will get good parts from BD auto, not Chinese BS. Thanks Dayz
SR_man_49
They are quality parts. But instead of rebuilding the L24 I would just do an L28 swap.
Dayz
This car is for the old man, he am giving him a present...lets say as appreciation for the help he gave me since I am born. Now that I can give him a present that I built, he will be more than touched. Knowing him, he wants to have it stock. Since I have the early engine in good condition, I will rebuild it that way. Regarding my 240z...it will be another story Dayz
Challenger
He doesnt have to know its an L28... I dont think hell notice piston size. As for gaskets go felpro.
280Zone
I ordered crank bearings from them once and they tried three times to get me a set that wasn't already opened and scratched. I gave up and bought them from my local machine shop and they were less money.
cockerstar
I just want to say that it's really awesome of you to build your dad a car just like you know he would like it! Complete surprise?
Dayz
Yes, he knows I am building one...he doesn't know it is for him. He is building an RV-7 (aircraft) and always wanted to help me out. The car will be built stock/with add-on for practicality, I am quite sure he will keep it forever! Thanks EL
OlderThanMe
Just get some Ebay L24 pistons with rings and wrist pins for around $200. They are listed every couple weeks. I think they are the same brand as Victoria's dragon... I had decent luck with the Felpro gaskets but the valve cover gasket was tricky. Took some work with an x-acto knife to fit properly by the thermostat housing. $75 at the parts store.
