Blown77Z
Worked on the JCI mount kit tonight for my LS1. The driver's side went in fairly smoothly, but the passenger side mount seems to not be bent right... Anyone else have this problem? Should I try and bend it to match the stock mount tower??? Thanks, Tim

Savage42
Yep, I'd just bend it to match. My setup was aligned nicely, as you can see in the pic.
Blown77Z
Any idea of how to bend it??? Was thinking of putting it back in place on the tower lifting the car up so all the weight is on the mount and jumping on it Either that or finding a local shop that can bend it for me.... bschiltz
A vice and a torch? Just bend it a little at a time and test fit it. Or else contact John and see if he'll do it for you or send you a new mount.
Blown77Z
Don't have a torch (yet). I did email John and sent him the same pic of the mount. Just waiting on a reply from him.
bschiltz
I'd wait till you hear from him, but if he tells you to bend it your self you can get a propane torch from ACE or other hardware store for ~$
rwwisnesky
I would call him along with an e-mail & picture. Have him ship you a new one. I know it will slow you down, but you need to get it right.
Blown77Z
I am definately calling him on Monday. It will slow the chassis prep down but I still have a ton of other stuff to do in the meantime, hehe. I did some preparing on the engine itself tonight. I got the AC pulled, along with the PS pump, which was a PITA !!!
Dudeboy
I did not have an issue with my passenger side mount, but I will go over to the garage and see if I can find pics on the laptop and get them posted.
rwwisnesky
What was the final outcome on the engine mount. Did John send you a new one
Blown77Z
I sent in the "bent" one for an exchange. I'm still waiting on the replacement. I'll keep an update of the build
Blown77Z
Got the "new" JCI mount installed. Fitment was flawless as it should be. I also split the trans open and removed the clutch and flywheel. Flywheel will be resurfaced on Tuesday. Replacing the clutch and having flywheel resurfaced was the last thing I needed to do to "prep" the engine itself before I dropped it in. I might be able to get the engine dropped in on Wed-Thurs !!! My new toy
