Guest deadironrat
I'd really like to do an engine swap using a chevy truck vortec, I know you can replace the oil pan and intake manifold on the LM7 with the LS1 stuff. My question is, are the LS1/LS2 oil pan, intake manifold, and other necessary parts interchangable onto the Vortec 4800/LR4/4.8?
bschiltz
Why not go with the 5.3? Unless you have a lead on a cheap LR4, I'd go with more cubes. I can't imagine the cost is going to be that much more.
dlouis7
yes they will all fit. if you look at your block you will notice that the block is marked 4.8/5.3 the block is the same so all external acessories should fit. i have the lm7
LS1 240Z
to swap the pan apparently you have to have a LS1 windage tray. or massage it to get the pickuptube to work with it. or so ive heard. to get the intake to work you will have to dent the tube on the water pump but it will work
