  1. yes they will all fit. if you look at your block you will notice that the block is marked 4.8/5.3 the block is the same so all external acessories should fit. i have the lm7
  2. vinhZXT, do you have any recomendations on what to do about that ODBII connector? it would come in handy. do you have yours connected? and if so how did you do it.
  3. yep, that was really my question, could you make it work for a 5.7? i would really save me some money.
  4. Has anyone done anything with a 3.8l regal supercharger? they are very cheap in the jy.
  5. would someone mind telling me what years of coverage for that taurus fan. i found a few but they are dual fans.
  6. is the engine physically the same size as an ls1? are you using the JCI mounting kit?
  7. Getz, thank you. exactly what i was looking for. Johnc, thank you. info i needed and didn't even know it, i searched "coil overs" and "install coil overs" but did not see this tutorial must have missed it but thanks again. David
  8. guys, I have been searching, and i feel i have found tons of useable info but i still have a few questions. I found these on ebay i visited the thread that gave the suspension upgrades in stages, and the only real reason i feel the need to switch to coilovers instead of just freshening up my suspension is wheel size flexibility( I read an awesome thread where a member is using 18" wheels) any way here are my questions: any one have pics of the coil over swap process? is the orig coil spring seat the platform that holds the threaded portion of the above coilovers from slipping down the strut body? if so do i have to trim the (width)seat down? i have not disassembled the orig strut yet, is the top threaded so that i could install a replacement cartridge? if so, why all the talk of welding? what is everyone welding? if not, even with all the talk of welding how will i get the top of the strut housing threaded? if someone can answer these questions i think i will be able to continue on my own. thanks in advance
  9. what is the name of the product you used i am very interested.
  10. well i am doing the same swap and my throtle body was drive by wire. i have retained the drive by wire feature because i am using the original harness otherwise the throttle bodies are the same size. i know because i purchased a ls1 throttle body spacer and i fit perfectly.
  11. good job!!! That looks great ...would love to find out more about this swap. Elaborate! how did you do it? are you using Ls1 acessories like water pump? i notice you are using the ls1 intake. i am doing the same swap ad would love to hear more about it. Keep up the good work
  12. Milesz, I am at the same point as you are in your swap and i am swaping the 5.3 4l60e into a 75 280z. I just finished extending the wire harness and figuring how to match it to the OEM 280 harness. I have not gotten my JCI kit yet and was just wondering how you cut that tab off of the right side where the a/c comp. mounts since our blocks are iron? according to everything that i have read that is a requirement for mounting the JCI kit. travrmk....you will need to use the lsx intake the injectors will not work so try to get the intake, rails and injectors. Oh, by the way the coil packs from the truck engine gets in the way of the fuel rail so get those also.
  13. can we as Hybrid Z members get a discount from JCI?... do we ever do a group buy?
  14. jonus, i too am using a 5.3 in my swap. i visited your flikr page can you elaborate on just how you modified that alternator bracket. i am also using a ls1 intake and used the 5.3 wire harness. it was your writeup that convinced me to use the ls1 intake because of the hood clearance. i am waiting for my J's car mounts so i have yet to fit the engine but i will be putting it in soon. i have to keep the 5.3 accessory brackets because they line up with the balancer and i am only keeping the a/c and air conditioning mounting, i was going to cut the alternator bracket anyway because i do niot need the pwr steering but before i cut it i had better find out how you positioned yours and how many bolt holes you are able to use.
  15. Ulises, your cardomain page also inspired me to build my first Ls1Z. I am nearing completion but i really would like to know what type of 17"ims you and ssflyer are running? If you dont mind another member having the same rims.on your page you say they are Enkei what is the offset and are you using spacers? what type? how big? you really would be taking hours of investigative research off my build time since my wheel guy only can offer me 16" konigs. thanks, sorry to hijack the thread i just really want this info. david
  16. what year taurus? i have a few cars here in Miami but they are dual fans off of late year Taurus.
  17. thanks for your input, i am going through the harness now. i got the pinouts from Alldata
  18. I've read some of his posts, and will continue to read them. thanks for your input, but i wish ther was a how to to cover all the little details. I visited your cardomain site, your car looks great, my car is the same color.
  19. thanks for the info.. I considered Speartech and Painless but i got the original harness for 150.00 uncut and complete so i am trying to avoid spending the extra 700+. I already have to hide all this money i am spending on this car from my wife.
  20. I have been searching the faq’s and have visited dozens of posts could someone PLEASE post a definitive wiring how-to for the ls1. Calling all you electrical brainiacs I actually have a 5.3 but I feel that if I had a sticky or found a post with a step by step “how to wire your Z for a lsx†I could make the adjustments. I signed up for Alldata and got the pinouts for my engine but I need some more help, someone in a post stated that you should begin by attaching your harness to a 4’ by 4†wooden board they mentioned a couple other steps but then the post got of track. The sticky on brakes walked me through my 4 piston conversion now I need help with the wiring. I just read the post from Oricle and I feel that if there was a sticky on wiring that would make his decision to proceed with the Lsx an easier one.
