well i just got another 1975 280z and ive done a lot of searching on popping out of the intake and ive tried everything and its still doing it!

 

when i hit the gas it starts popping and then it just stops it only does it around 800-1400 rpm then it stops i dont kno what to do

 

any help would be great :-)

Sounds like you're talking about backfiring through the intake, that's probably gonna be a timing issue. If everything is set properly but it continues to backfire, try retarding the timing a few degrees and see if it goes away.

Popping back on accel is usaually caused by a lean condition. That's why most carbs have accelerator pumps. I'd look for vacuum leaks, bad boot between MAF and throttle body, possible TPS, low fuel pressure, bad FPR. Also don't ignore the possibility of crossfire between the ignition wires. Test with a water spray bottle....Tommy
