If everything is set properly but it continues to backfire, try retarding the timing a few degrees and see if it goes away. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

jasper Posted March 7, 2008 Share Posted March 7, 2008 Popping back on accel is usaually caused by a lean condition. That's why most carbs have accelerator pumps. I'd look for vacuum leaks, bad boot between MAF and throttle body, possible TPS, low fuel pressure, bad FPR. Also don't ignore the possibility of crossfire between the ignition wires.
