Guest treblaz
Hello fellow Z Freaks. I have a 1983 280ZX 2+2 with some reasonable mods that I need some help with; Head Rebuilt, Ported & Polished Stage 2 Cam Deck Machined 10.5:1 Compression Ratio. Lightened & Balanced Fly Wheel Stock Clutch preasure plate modified MSA Throttle Body Custome 3" Aluminum Intake with twin 3" Shielded Pod style filters Custom Header 280zx Turbo exhaust Lowered 1" All around IMSA II Body Kit all around Said to be around 285 HP at the fly wheel Custom Interior Competition Sound system It is now time to fix my heating problem and would like to know if anyone out there could point me in the right direction. I am looking to replace the stock radiator with an aluminum. Arizona Z is not willing to send one to me as he fears that it will be damaged in transit. Anyone have a good sugestion on one that would suit? Dimension, Inlet/Outlet size, mounting brackets, etc.(Summit Racing, Be Cool, etc) I could go to a performance shop and ask them to do it for me, however its just not the same as doing it yourself. I would appreciate any help you guyz may be able to provide. This type of information may be useful to the next Z Freak doing a similar upgrade. I am fairly new to this forum business, so excuse me in advance if I have breached any protocols. treblaz
Chemicalblue
I'm running an AFCO right now and it works really good. I bought mine at Smileys Racing. You will have to make custom brackets so that the radiator can float. If you just bolt in a aluminum radiator the normal bending and flexing the car normally sees will break most aluminum radiators. Guest treblaz
I hadn't considered the bending and flexing aspect. Where did you decide to mount your floating brackets? Thanks for the warning! Treblaz
