Guest kilick1
Hey guy I was wondering if having a 2jz gte twin turbo motor in an non turbo car effect the rear end of the car?
m4xwellmurd3r
Yep, the rear end of the car will love dancing side to side. But in all seriousness, we'd need more info before we can figure out what rear end and how much power you're going to have with that engine before we can help. Guest kilick1
Sry but i don't know too much myself, all I know is my friend telling me that he put a turbo rx7 motor into a non-turbo rx7 and his rear end snaped on him, i think he maybe talking about the differential or something so i was just wondering if anyone had any problems with their non-turbo Z when putting a 2jz gte into it? 240Z_478
Well I am not sure of your plans but to answer shortly yes the rear end will not last with a 2JZ. There are a lot of posts regarding a differential choice for your Z. Here is a good place to start... http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=114798&highlight=R200+diff
jeffer949
First of all what car do you have? and then what rear end do you have. If you have an r200 it should be able to handle the power. Its the half shafts and stub axles that are going ot be the weak point.

jeffer949
2 seater? or 2+2 if its a 2 seater you have a r180 with a 3.364 i believe. you are going ot have to swap in a r200. i would suggest doing alot of research on all aspects of the swap. i would go over to the drivetrain section and start reading. Sure we could just tell you what to do, but what would be the fun in that.

Scottie-GNZ
The RX7 n/a diff is equivalent to the R180 and the RX7 turbo diff is equivalent to the R200. A 2JZ is not exactly a torque monster but compared to a rotary, it is. If he rotary engine broke the n/a diff, then a 2JZ with a manual will "challenge" the R180 and probably win.
