I have a 83 280ZX that I am restoring and when ever I connect the battery my tail lights come on. I'm thinking it's a short somewhere, not sure where to look. Any advice?:?:

have you checked the brake pedal light switch for wear or sticking?

Yes I found my solution. It was the brake peddle switch. It is a tab that is located at the top of the brake peddle. It has a rubber grommet that depresses the switch, i had to improvise a new one the rubber piece does not come with the kit.

I have something like that, except my brake lights and turn signals never come on, and the running tail lights are always on (whenever the battery is connected). I haven't gotten to mess with it so don't hate if it's something easy (at the beach now so I can't), I'm just asking if anybody knows if the same thing happens with the switch to turn on your lights (that would effect tail lights). Thanks in advance. When I figure it out I'll post.

Check or replace the small black module under the passenger seat. GL
