Guest Anonymous
Ok here's the deal. I have a 73 240z with a procharger v-8 and a t-56. I updated to a what i thought was an r-200. I purchased the diff from a guy that said it was out of a later Z It came with the different mustache bar( the one that looks like a smiley face and is flat. The ends curl though for the bushing. The whole unit bolted in with no fussing around. I do remember that it was considerable larger than the diff that came out of the car. The output flanges are bolted on and the rear cover for the diff is aluminum and IS NOT finned. I bought a Quaife (ouch) for an r-200. Took both to the diff shop. They are saying that the splines on the input shafts are too small to fit into the Quaife. I verified with Quaife that I had the right Diferential from them. So now what I want to know is what diff did i buy from the bone yard? is there a Part # on the housing that tells what is what? Anyone have a clue? Thanks again to all, Peter
blueovalz
If the output flanges are bolted in and not held in by clips, my initial thought is that you currently have an R180, not an R200. Anybody else got an opinion? Terry
johnc
Go to Bryan Little's page and look at the pictures to figure out what's in the car: http://www.mindspring.com/~blittl/engine.html ------------------ John Coffey johnc@betamotorsports.com
BLKMGK
I've got both an LSD R200 and open R200 in the garage. If a close up pic of either will help lemme' know.
