Shift Posted April 12, 2008 Share Posted April 12, 2008 I've never done it, but from looking at the kit, it doesn't look al that hard, but can be deadly if you inhale the humes. savageskaterkid Posted April 12, 2008 Share Posted April 12, 2008 on a 99, you don't need a conversion kit. As its already R-134a, just get a can of R-134a and get the hose for it. 80LS1T Posted April 12, 2008 Share Posted April 12, 2008 First of all putting an unknown amount of refrigerate in your car is pointless. You don't know how much is still in there right now. R134a systems are very sensitive to the amount of freon that you have in it...extra is not a good thing. You really need to pull a vacuum on the system first and see if it can hold a vacuum. IF it does then you know you don't have a leak. IF it can't you obviously have a leak and it's not going to matter if you fill the system because it's all going to leak out and usually it's pretty fast. wickiewicked240z Posted April 12, 2008 Author Share Posted April 12, 2008 I just went to autozone got a can with the gauge and fill it up. I guess it didn't have anything in there it was reading pretty low. I empty the can at 50psi at +85degrees and hurray my a/c is working let's just hope there are no leaks..
