trwebb26
I'm FINALLY reworking the interior in my 280z (autopower rollbar, corbeau A4 seats, harnesses, new carpet, door skins, vinyl, etc). I peeled off the old crappy headliner from the roof - and some of the vinyl on the wheel wells and there is some kind of funky 30 year old glue under there. I started using brake cleaner to take it off - but after almost passing out from the fumes decided to stop and search the threads for some answers. I didn't find any answers...sooo.... do any of you have tricks up your sleeve for taking this crap off?
Mike kZ
Try "Goof Off", you can buy it anywhere.
TravRMK
Goof off works well, 3M adhesive and wax remover works well, Ronsinol lighter fluid, and Good old WD40 work pretty good too.
mark
3M makes a rubber wheel that I'vd used to remove stripes and decals from a few cars. It works like an eraser and does not harm the paint. I bought mine at napa. http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Manufacturing/Industry/Product-Catalog/Online-Catalog/?PC_7_RJH9U5230GE3E02LECFTDQGLE0_nid=0G4KFN490HbeSQSFJR0R56gl
