JustinOlson
The major problem is I wouldn't mix and match the RB-R and RB. Currently, the RB-R is available in 17x8.5. It is not currently available in 17x7.5. Currently, the RB is available in 17x7.5. It is not currently available in 17x8.5. Looks like you need to do one size or the other. http://www.rotawheel.com/AVAILABILITY.htm Justin
rudypoochris
I agree ^. BUT that might just be availability in the Hayward warehouse. It is possible that there exists RB's and RB-R's in both sizes but I do not know.
aziza z
Can someone post pictures of the difference in wheels? i don't see a difference.
rudypoochris
http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=123531&page=2 Post #23. The RB is the top, RB-R is the second.
ktm
Good to see you up and running Matt. I disagree with everyone here about the RBs on your car. Your car's lines are more modern and as such do not flow well with the old school look at RBs. Some CCWs, Works VS-XX or similar wheels would be better. aziza z
Id love a set of ccws or something like that bo. But I cant afford those. My range is in the $1000 range. I do see the difference now. I wonder if it would be that noticeable on the car though.
aziza z
Well now I guess I might have to go 8.5 +4 all the way around. Anyone had issues in the front with those? I cant trim my air dam if it touches, and i really don't want it to touch the control arm. Is there any other wheels that would meet the requirements im looking for other than the rbs then? im stuck....
rudypoochris
Your going to want a 4.5" BS to clear stock suspension at full lock. The valance to wheel clearance I am not as positive on. Maybe I could grab you some distances for front spacing. I wrote a little calculator for wheel spacing which is nice and quick and should help you out: http://autolounge.net/calculators/tirespacing.html Alternatively this calculator is better than mine, but a bit more complex for the task at hand: http://www.rims-n-tires.com/info_specs.jsp When you crunch the numbers for an 8.5" +4 you get 4.9" of BS. That will probably rub at the T/C rods, maybe touch the perches, and maybe rub the tire against the rails at full lock. It may not though also. I just found 4.5" BS to be the highest reasonable BS to specify for a stock suspension. Worse comes to worse your looking at a 5-10mm spacer. JustinOlson
Why not just do the 16X8" RB-R's? Justin
garvice
Yeah, I like the RBs over your current ones.
aziza z
I'm going with coil overs. So i wont be messing with stock suspension. On the 16x8s, i like the look of 17s, don't really want to go down to 16s.
rudypoochris
Coilovers aren't going to afford you any more room at the T/C rod which is where the interference will probably occur if you go with a 17x8.5" +4.
