zmaster
Here is the car completely painted, I do have a few bubbles, but I expected that, because I have never painted a car before EVER. But I am still happy on the way it looks. From 5 feet away you really can't tell if there are imperfections in the paint. here is a link to my photobucket account check out my pics of the car http://s296.photobucket.com/albums/mm195/hybridzmaster/ Oh does anyone know how to correctly allign the door windows? It starting to be a pain in the A** I just can't figure it out.
mikeatrpi
Looks good. Flat or matte black? What kind of paint did you use?
zmaster
Here is the link of the paint kit I used....I had to buy three kits to do the whole car. I believe it is flat black After I layed the paint down. and saw the gloss, I started to think I should Have bought a black with a gloss, but after taking the car out of my garage for 2 days, and seeing it in the sun I realized the paint is really growing on me and I LOVE IT even more than I though I would. So I am super happy. Now I think its time to get a job so I can insure, and plate it so I can finally drive it further than my driveway. mikeatrpi
Yea, I found your thread in the body section where you describe the paint. Right after you lay down the paint and step back is a good feeling, isn't it? Don't fret the bubbles too much. When I painted my car I had bubbles, bugs, leaf pieces... all kinds of junk in the paint. Lessons for next time I suppose! Enjoy driving your car - or at least admiring it till you get a job! zmaster
yeah thanks, and it is a very good feeling to step back and look at your car and think....( wow I can't believe I was able to do this to MY car) I have no experience in painting cars or doing bodywork...but strangely it seems like it came naturaly to me. Yeah there are bubbles, but not only in a few places, and I have 3 runs on the hood, and over the rain channel on the drivers side. I did everything on a $1200 dollar budget too $500 on paint and body supplies, door glass, and underbody coating, and the rest in parts for the car $300 on brand new injectors. zmaster
I washed my car yesterday, and it looks even better with all of the dust off of the car. I also used a wire wheel, a power drill, and some wax, and shined up the old stock rims. They look beautiful...NOT PERFECT, but beautiful from a distance with the sun shining off of them. I really would like to see more comment of my finished paint job.
