Challenger
I had gotten a spare n42 block and head and bought a set of nissan headbolts, and a set of new bearings. Now Ive got myself a f54/p90a and these spare parts (headbolts/bearings) laying around. Would I be able to use them? Im kind of doubtful but thought Id check before I sell them. josh817
All those parts are interchangeable throughout the Nissan L6 motors. Even the Nissan Diesel Maxima shares the same bearings. So yes, bearings will work for either one, as long as they're the same size for each crank (IE: one crank is STD make sure the other is STD too) You can interchange those heads on the blocks too if you so desire. Challenger
Thanks, yeah I know the heads are interchangeable, but Im going to be using the turbo block (f54) with the turbo head (p90a).
2eighTZ4me
They'll work for sure.
josh817
Yup, just make sure those cranks match in bearing size and you should be good to go. Besides the turbo head bolts should be stronger I hear so no need to interchange those either unless your F54 didn't have with it.
Challenger
Well I didnt want to reuse old head bolts. Will the difference in strength be a problem? Ill only be at 12 psi so It wont be any extravagent motor.
z-ya
You can reuse head bolts, just clean all gunk from the threads, chase the threads in the block with the right tap, and then oil the threads before reassembly. I've used turbo head bolts 3 and 4 times over on MODERATE builds without any issues.
