AK-Z
Most probably already know of this, but I thought it was worth mentioning. http://www.star-telegram.com/189/story/688574.html
MatMan
The scam around Sac is a seemingly distraught person comes to you with a 2 gal can and gives a story about how they stalled about a mile up the road, and asks you to be a saint and fill the can so they will be able to get their car started to be able to make it to fill up. They thank you and go around a corner (where their car is) and pour the fuel into, and come back after you drive off to ask someone else. Then repeat until their car is full. capt_furious
Saw a guy at the end of a freeway exit yesterday with a 'ran out of gas - please help' sign. Right. Sure. Tell you what, we'll use MY gas can and I want to see your car and watch you try to start it first. It's a sad commentary on humanity when you can't even help someone that might legitimately be in trouble for fear of a scam.
Challenger
Luckily the tanks on S30's are well hidden underneath the car where no one can get to them..
AK-Z
Luckily the tanks on S30's are well hidden underneath the car where no one can get to them.. not in stock form. mine's high enough, that someone can use a 10 mm spanner on the tank's drain plug. Challenger
"..." That was my hint for sarcasm. I think the s30 has one of the most vulnerable gas tanks of all the cars Ive seen, especially with Z's that have semi frozen struts and sit really high. m4xwellmurd3r
hmm here's a good idea then. just ditch the gas tank, ditch the spare tire, and build a fuel tank inside your spare tire well, without modifying the exterior looks haha. Probably would take a hit capacity wise unless you made it deeper, but that'd be pretty cool. if you run the lines out the top of the tank, any would be theif wouldn't even see the tank. just a spare tire well. Challenger
Or you can have a decoy tank that is a few inches thick that goes around the outside of the actual tank. Fill it with something bad for engines.
kiwi303
Or you can have a decoy tank that is a few inches thick that goes around the outside of the actual tank. Fill it with something bad for engines. I know a few farmers who did something similiar. Tanks used to be out in the yard, visible from the roadside where it was easy for the minitanker to top them up, I'm talking a 1500L farm vehicle bulk storage tank. after thefts became more common when fuel topped a dollar a litre, he built another tank and stand out behind a bunch of sheds and filled the old one with treated fuel. Until word got out amongst the stupid boy racer rice crowd, there'd be a stuffed car blown up down the road about once a week to once a month... now the price is up to over $2 a litre I bet theres more theives, not tied into the grapevine of the ricer crowd, who are going to have engine probs
m4xwellmurd3r
gasoline treaded with a healthy dosage of bleach maybe? 1 gallon of bleach in a tank of gas is enough to turn the tank into pure rust overnight. I'm sure an engine would LOVE that.
nbesheer
Would running lead additive to the older nissans be a problem. I know the theifs car wouldn't like it. unless their car is old too ?
