Aftermarket sandwich plate in place of stock one?

I have an '81 L28ET in my S30, but the stock sandwich plate and banjo lines are problematic. I don't really want a bunch of adapter fittings and I figure a more elegant solution would be something like this:

My block looks like this:

The bypass valve is in the stock sandwich plate so I suppose I should get an aftermarket plate with that included. I also don't have a nipple in the block. Is there a way to pull that nipple off of my old N/A motor without spoiling the threads?

Has anyone used an aftermarket sandwich plate with a turbo auto block?

You can buy the nipple on ebay and I think too intense restoration for like $10.

You could take 2 oil filters and cut the bottems off them. Try ro spin them both on it like a jamb nut setup and loosen the rear 1. It might pull it out.?

They are really not in there all that tight. I pulled 1 out once with a pair of vise grips. Had to file the threads a little bit after tho. It still worked.

I stuffed the 'nipple' with a small piece of rag and used an angle grinder with a cutting wheel to make two shallow cuts about 2mm's wide,180 degrees away from each other, ie either side. Then I used a piece of steel to bridge them. Multigrips on the steel piece should get it off. The threads are not wrecked on the nipple this way. You're able to tighten it now when you put it into your other block.....

Suffice to say, clean the area well and remove the rag to rid of cuttings.

Two nuts tightened against each other will work, but you'll have to find them etc. The first idea worked for me great without having to leave my workshop!

Cheers!
