boomnn
so i have a 73 z that ran fine when it was last parked "five years ago" what and where would be the best place to start to see if it is still gonna run? what would be the best place to start replacing stuff if need be? i dont know how much fuel was in it when stored, at least it is covered? any ideas and help will be hugely appreciated.... thanks neil
scottkell
Drain the tank and flush it. Change the fuel filter. Take the bowls off the SUs (if it has them) and clean them out. Thats where I would start
zedman240
I'd give it a quick service; like oil +filter. There might be alot of condensation in the oil etc. Spray some WD40 in the cylinders before startup and check water level.

WizardBlack
You really should try to PRIME an engine if it has sat for that long. Change the brake fluid as well, IMHO. Basically, anything liquid should probably be changed. Grease anything you can that has a fitting.
