COmputoman
My Wednesday night project.Does anybody else use satellite radio in their Z? Where did you mount yours? I used to have XM in my 280zx. Had it installed with a head unit that was XM ready. Also had the antenna coming out of the top of the hatch and onto the roof of the car (Bad Idea. The hatch would open too much and pinch the wire for the antenna)
Glliw
I'm about to do my XM installation into my 260z soon. I plan on using an FM modulator for the signal reception from the antenna (on the roof of the car). Use the XM factory bracketry to attach to the dash most likely. serx93
I am getting close to installing XM in my 280Z. I am using the XM Commander and keeping it lose. I want to put a stock looking radio back into the dash and then have the Xm commander wired from under the seat. The preamps out of the commander will go straight to my crossover and amps. To control Volume I will be adding a small potentiometer knob that the preamps will run through. The stereo shop thats going to do my work has done this on several classic cars and it seems to work very well.
Calgary280ZT
Sirius and it's the usual suction cup on the left side of the windshield. I don't mind it there, just getting a bit crowded on the dash...GPS, radar detector, Wolf dashboard tuner....
