Chartoo
Hello Im trying to get a set of 17 inch wheels for my 2+2 but i need to know what the widest rims i can get that will clear stock suspension with a front aftermarket front spoiler. Normally i thought it was 7inch fronts and 8 inch rear wheels with a zero offset. Has anyone fitted bigger? I ask becasue the 2+2 is slightly wider in the arse than a 2+0. proxlamus©
check out the group buy thread "Rota RB's 17x9.5 and 17x9" you can fit a 9.5" wide wheel with a stock suspension with proper backspacing and proper offset
Chartoo
Yeah i was in on that buy but the wheels are for 2 seaters cause 2+2s are about and inch wider overall in the bum so it thows it out for the flares. With out flares 8.5 in the rear?
JMortensen
...2+2s are about and inch wider overall in the bum... Where I can I find some proof of this? I've heard it many times, but as I said in another thread just today, when you look at the Factory Service Manual there is no difference in the suspension pickup points, and another member noted that there is no difference in the suspension pieces themselves. Chartoo
as far a i know the mech are the same its just wider in the back to allow for the rear seat which pumps out the bum a bit more. Like an inch over in track i heard. Read that on the last page of the rbr group buy page # 909 http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=123576&page=
JMortensen
Yeah, I think that's wrong. If you look at the FSM the suspension pickup points are exactly in the same place. And if the control arms are exactly the same too... well, the would have the same width.
riverz
I know the tail light are different and a normal rear body kit will not fit with out some adjustment. Also a normal three piece spoiler will not fit with out adjustment. Jason
