rwwisnesky
I had John's Cars rework the original tach in my 1978 280Z to work with the LS1. My problem is that the Tach jumps all over when I get on it. I am going straight from the computer to the tach via the dash harness. There was a resistor between the old coil and the tach before. Anyone know if I need to keep it between the computer and tha tach??? The tach is fine as long as I rev the engine slowly.
m1noel
after John's re-re-worked mine (didn't work at all the first time) it now works fine. and there is no resistor installed. I guess the LS2 signal is different than the LS1 though. I would direct a question directly to John and his tach guy. I talked to them and they seemed to know what they were doing. mike
rwwisnesky
I think when I reworked the Z harness, I removed the black ground wire in the C1 connector, thus ungrounding the tach. In the process of reworking it now, hope it works.

I have a 240z that came with the 327 chevy but the tach does not work. I think it requires calibrating but do not know how to do it regards 240z chevy v8. rwwisnesky
What I do know, which isnt much, it that there is a adjustment screw in the back of the tach. If you have the tack out, hooked up to the engine with a calibrated tach, you should be able to adjust the screw so they read the same. Dont think there is any internal change required.
