whitechocolatelove
is that ok to do? and will using an ecu from an 82-83 work with it?
BleachZee
two problems that may arise are with the Crank Angle Sensor and the injectors. 1981 I believe had unique injectors with resistors in them. 1982-83 either did not need that or the resistors were in the ECU. If you use a 1982 harness and ECU, just install the 1982-83 distributor with the CAS built in and put in 1982-83 turbo injectors. There may be a way to wire in the '81 external CAS but I'm not sure how The head and block will be fine. I ran a 1982 head/block with manifolds, wiring, and ECU all from 1983. worked perfect. Brad-ManQ45
All injectors were low impedance, so your injectors are fine. I believe it was the '81 that had the external resistor pack in a separate box- the later model years had the resistors in the CPU box, so you're cool there if you are using an '82 or '83 cpu. If you are using the '81 cpu, you will need to make a resistor pack.
whitechocolatelove
cool thanks a lot!
phil280zxt
Brad's explanation of the injector resistors, the 81 CAS will plug right into 82/83 distributor CAS harness plug. No difference in output.
