utvolman99
There are just too many choices to make for this swap! I live close to the Z-Barn and will probably be getting my r200 from them. I need to decide between the 3.5, 3.7 and the 3.9. I will be running a 96-98 Vortec roller motor with a carb and dual plane intake. I will be leaving the motor stock at first at least the first couple of months because of the salvage yard warrantee and because its very expensive to modify. I think right now Im leaning towards the 3.7?? Someone give me some insight, Im killing myself here!

Guest kc6wfs
Not sure what the last gear on a T5 is. 3.7 ya can't go wrong and there are lots of them out there, and it's better than the 3:54. Im looking for a 3.9 LSD R200 complete. Hope to find it soon. Saw your post on Sallee web site. Thats a good Cam. But i probably would go with compcams(?) springs and retainers. Probably not a good idea to mix/match cams/springs/retainers. Who ever ya buy the cam from get there stuff. I am going to go with the XR270HR also. 400HP would be fun!!!!!!! Guest jens
Pontiac engines like 3.25-3.50 rearends because of cast rods and small exhaustports. Rpm limit is 5200-5500 rpm rpm = ( mph x 336 x (rearend x transmission)/tire size example 5200 rpm in 4th with 26" tires and 3.54 rear = 5200 x 26 / ( 336 x (3.54 x 1))= 114 mph.
