zmaster
After this whole year of driving my 75 280z, the fuel pump started to pump at 29-30 psi, and I said to myself its time to change the fuel pump. After I did that there is no more stumbling, the acceleration has increased dramastically, and the fuel pressure is running at 39-40 psi. I was very suprised that my z is fast for the year it is. So now having to drive a z like it should be running I don't know if I still want to do a RB26 DETT swap with a RB25 trans? I no longer know what I should do with my 280 engine wise? twoeightyzx
Zmaster, what kind of stumbling problem were you having? I ask because I was just doing a search and your recent post came up. Currently my '78 is stumbling on occasion. It started when it the fuel level was a half and has progressed to stumbling with a full tank. I have recently replaced the fuel pressure regulator and fuel filter. Another thing I've noticed is if it starts to stumble pressing on the accelerator will cause the motor to almost die. I do have a new pump to replace it I just want to see if our problems are/were the same prior to installing it.
