csorgenf
Pulled my son's R180 to replace with a 4.11 from a 280ZX. He wants to sell the R180 so we were checking the gear ratio. I expected 3.34 but when we test it we get around 2.90. Has anyone heard of such a ratio. The car is a 1972 4sp.
Lazeum
When I wanted to check mine, I came to the same conclusion... 2500 rpm at 60 mph in 4th gear (1.00 ratio), I found 2,90 too. I think we made a mistake to our calculation somewhere...
johnc
Take the rear cover off and read the tooth count numbers stamped in the ring gear.
csorgenf
I was doing it out of the car. It turns out I made a mistake in my count. It is about 3.34. Thanks all
