zane9000
Can someone please post a picture of how the distributor shaft is supposed to look when the engine is at TDC please? I have a feeling that I managed to install it completely wrong and want to verify that is my problem before I drain my new oil :s.
DCZ
You don't have to drain the oil to pull the oil pump. Sorry, can't help you on the distributor shaft orientation though.
slownrusty
Here you go, your rotor should be in line with the red line in this picture, poiting to the front of the car. Regards - Yasin
zane9000
Thank you very much. That is just what I needed!
jacob80
So you guys go by the rotor rather than looking at the orientation of the top of the shaft as the book and FSM do? So as long as the rotor is facing straight ahead at TDC everything is good? We are having issue with this and need a concrete answer. Thanks guys! burninator
I hope I remember this right... If you pull off the distributor and look at the top of the shaft it should be at a 5 degree angle counter clockwise from a line intersecting the distributor mounting holes with the little half towards the front of the car.
