skib
Kind of an odd question but how hot dose the front cover of an L28et get? I had mine bead blasted and I want to clear coat it, is it to hot for rattle can clear or do I need to powdercoat it?
Administrators BRAAP Posted November 6, 2008 Administrators Share Posted November 6, 2008 The block, front cover, valve cover, crank damper, even the head, (except the region directly surrounding the exhaust ports) will hold up to rattle can paint just fine. Take care, Paul
Challenger
You can always just get the engine enamel. 500 degrees

Tony D
Powder coating will withstand solvents far better than the 500F Rattle Can stuff will... I am in the habit of solvent spraying the engine when oil gets on it, my only reason for mentioning it. Powdercoating is cheap when you consider clear annodizing...though you can check out Caswell Plating.com and see what one of their smaller '5 gallon bucket' setups goes for, I'm sure there's all sorts of little doo-dads you can think of to clear anodize once you have the kit at the house, and the car all apart...
