Beau M
I will be doing some minor body work in the near future. I do not plan on removing entire panels, just patching existing holes. What would you reccomend that I spray into the rockers/quarters etc for rust prevention? I won't be able to get in there to remove the existing rust, I was hoping for a product that I could just spray in there and would "kill" the rust that is there while protecting the metal from further dammage. I have looked into POR-15 and Zero Rust, both of which require surface prep. Any ideas? -Beau
nismopick
What model Z do you have? If it's an S30 or S130... it's not called "rust prevention" it's "rust repair." Anything you spray over existing rust won't stop the rust (aka rubber undercoating). Rust converter will slow rust, but not stop it entirely. The only way to STOP rust is to remove it completely. So having said all that, treat what you can w/ rust converter or POR15.
Beau M
Yeah, its a 78 280z 2+2. I'm going to replace everything that is cancerous and real bad, but for the nooks and cranies I want to spray something in there, mostly for piece of mind. Zero Rust seems pretty good from the chatter on the internet.
