caen fred
I am trying to fix all the small issues I have during the winter. One is with the brakes. I have 280ZX front brakes and calipers, 280ZX brake booster and master cylinder. I still have the 240Z check valve. My pedal travel is very long but the brakes are good. I had a look at my check valve and it's reversed if I compare with the diagram from the service manual. If I put it the other way the brakes are very firm, no pedal travel but I have almost no stopping power! ????????????
cockerstar
Does the issue only occur in cold winter weather, or all of the time?
260DET
By 'check valve' I assume you are talking about the one way valve in the vacuum line. It can be checked by sucking/blowing, the end that you can not blow through goes to the manifold. The long pedal travel could be due to incorrect adjustment of the MC rods, the one to the pedal, the other to the MC. Brakes may also may need bleeding, thats the most likely.
