Racinjitter
Nioce! Isn't the valve covers supposed to be leaning towards the drivers side? I am sure you will have it ironed out by monday. You are right, the skyline wheels look really good on there!
ShaggyZ
Nioce! Isn't the valve covers supposed to be leaning towards the drivers side? Ditto. And I will be very surprised if it really isn't tilted to far back. Good luck.
scottyMIz
yea i had to tip it a little to get it to clear the steering shaft and still keep it somewhat low in the engine bay. I did adjust it a bit more today and slid the tranny mount over about an inch making everything fit much better. The tranny plate is 1/2 thick plate and the motor mounts are 1/4 thick steel plate. The drivers side was added to but the pass side i just extended out about 4 inches. Best thing is this is basically reversable if i wanted to run the 2.2l again(cant imagine why). Now to pull the engine fix one of the coolant lines and paint the motor mounts. i'll have more pics tonight.....

ShaggyZ
I just noticed it has a front sump oil pan. I thought all the RB20DET's were rear sump, but then I looked them I read that this engine came from a R31 Skyline instead of a 200ZR, which I thought were the only cars to come with the RB20DET. Wouldn't you have been better off with the rear sump? If so, the bright side is you should be able to get a hold of the stuff you'd need for pretty cheap. scottyMIz
the front sump works just fine, With the rear sump pan it would be over the front cross member but shouldnt hit it either. I can get a little more height on the tranny now if i need it with the hole in the floor but the drive line angle is just fine so i probably wont bother as long as there aren't any other problems. I looked around and from what i could find the angle of the motor as long as it isn't too severe doesnt matter as much as the drive line angle. Plus my truck has air ride so it sits at different heights at different times, driving, sitting ect.

Careless
no hood snout clearance issues? It might pay to dip the front down just an inch and a half or so.
scottyMIz
nope hood fits fine got over an inch clearance and the engine doesnt really go any farther down, but it does run!!! i got her started today forgot to hook up the injector power last night. So just the small things and it'll move on it's own very soon.

Racinjitter
Your truck looks like it got into a fight, and you punched it in the eye. LOL. Good Job! This was much faster than the Z swap!
scottyMIz
lol yea it looked pretty beat up! but here is the finished product just waiting on a maf.......dang jerk saying he would get me one before the weekend i took it for a ride lastnight it is very smooth and there weren't any bad noises. The driveshaft was perfect no vibrations at speeds i was at(guessing about 55 or so) i couldnt go to fast with no maf, i could only give it about 1/8th throttle but it did run pretty good. I bought another maf on ebay hopefully will have one of em in a few days. I'll get vids when its running right, i love the way it turned out the only thing i need to address is the bov location. It had to be that way because i didnt have enough pipe and all the pipe except the bov pipe is aluminum, I needed a steel piece to weld the bov onto. Oh well it does still work tho. ShaggyZ
Awesome job Scotty! Looks like it came that way from the factory ... Is it because of the matching scratches and dirt?
