Guest Anonymous
Does anyone know the HP rating for an R200. I couldn't find this stat in the forum archives. My 289F V8 should put out approx. 250-275 HP, my diff is .345. Any experience as to how it holds up and when it breaks under diferent driving conditions i.e. race etc.
blueovalz
Your R200 will be fine. I've got well over that HP rating in my motor, and I've still got the same R200 differential I originally started with. BUT, the weak link that did fail under racing conditions was the half shafts. After going through serveral pairs of them, I put in the ZX cv-jointed turbo shafts and never broke the drivetrain ever again. I'm running under 400hp with my powerplant, but some of the Chevy guys running more torque are still having good luck with the R200, so you should be fine. Guest Anonymous
Thanks Terry, I read the writup you have on the CV joint replacements in your URL which will help greatly. Steve
pparaska
After the half shafts, the next weak link are the stub axles. 280Z stubs fit in a 240Z with no fuss and are a bit stronger.
