Ed260Z
I know most people are trying to get rid of this tank. And I can find plenty of threads on how to get rid of it. I'm replacing all of the lines in my fuel sytem. (Figured that 35 years was long enough) But when I removed the lines off the recovery tank the bungs came off with the hoses. Can I reinstall them the same way I do my copper plumbing in the house? Or do they need to be welded on?
dan5138
Hmm these were probably brazed or welded originally. If you have access to an oxy acetelyene torch and some 15% silver brazing rod, it should work quite nicely. I personally haven't had good experience trying to solder steel with the stuff intended for copper.
Ed260Z
It looks like the bung is cooper, and the tank is steel.

Ed260Z
Epoxy is always an option. But if I can braze it on it would be better.
