FlawleZ
I bought her in Summer of '05 as I was in need of a new Z. So I did some checking through the local Z guys here and quickly came across a big project car. She had a broken T-belt and no tranny. Horrible interrior and an exterrior that said "Oh, just shoot me." BUT, I didn't let it stop me. I picked her up for $400 and so began the never ending project of what you see today. Here's how she looked as I tore into it the first time. After over 3.5 years of work, time, and of COURSE money, here's how she currently sits: Here's the mod list thus far. This includes any cosmetic change or upgrade I've made to the car since purchase. NOT including MILLIONS of fixes and restoration to OEM spec in many aspects. 50 Trim T3/T4 (Clipped) 9.4 lb Helper Spring MKIV Supra FMIC 2.25" Mandrel Intercooler Piping 2.5" Turboback Exhaust w/Magnaflow Muffler HKS Intake HKS SSQV BOV HKS EVC III EBC Dual A-Pillar Guage Mount Autometer Boost Gauge Zeitronix Wideband 02 w/Digital Guage NIStune 450CC Injectors (Pre Recall Wiring) Walbro 255 FS5R30A Tranny Powertrain Industries Driveshaft ACT Street Clutch 90A Maxima Alternator 8K HID's Silverstar Foglights w/Removed Glareguards Z32 Black Leather Seats Z32 Wheels w/adapters Z32 '99 Shift Knob Poly Motor Mounts Poly Subframe Bushings 88T Brake Calipers 88T Tension Rods 88 SS Springs Tokico HP Struts & Shocks Escort 4500 Radar Detector Pioneer CD Player 6" Sony Explode 3-Ways 12" Sony P5 MTX Amp
FlawleZ
Got the Z running again yesterday. Had my tensioner let go while at Branson Z Fest back in June. Still needs a little more fine adjusting and tuning before I start to turn up the boost. But it should be ready to lay rubber @ 60 mph soon enough. I also changed things around some more. Upgraded my turbo a Precision Billet 62/62, changed out my intercooler setup, added a Tial 38mm wastegate, etc. Here's a couple vids my brother took with his Iphone yesterday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVTLtBZS-dU
FlatBlack
The new stuff looks great, Matt. Seeing all of you at BZF has made me look at the VG30ET swap a little harder now.
FlawleZ
The new stuff looks great, Matt. Seeing all of you at BZF has made me look at the VG30ET swap a little harder now. It really is a VERY capable motor. 500 WHP capable on the stock bottom end. All you need is a bigger turbo, IC setup, fuel, and NIStune. Done. FlawleZ
Had StreetFighter (2JZ Z31 300ZX) build me custom manifolds a couple years ago. Here's how it turned out: Installed all new fuel system: Took it to the dyno last Tuesday: And so far it looks like I have the record for most power on a stock bottom end VG30. 545 RWHP and 540 RWTQ
