Guest Anonymous
I have a '73 240z, just changed the clutch (it was my first one) and I have trouble getting the shifter into gear. 1st gear is the worst. I had to bleed the clutch because I put a new slave cylinder on it. when I put the shifter into 1st and the clutch is completely depressed, the car creeps forward when the clutch shouldn't even be engaged. Tim240z
You may still have air in the line, or you may need to adjust your clutch pedal rod. How much free play do you have on your pedal before it begins to contact? Tim
Guest Anonymous
I just did a thorough bleeding job, and the pedal rod is maxed out. I peeked into the dust boot where the lever goes into the transmission and had a friend depress the clutch, it appears the the throw-out bearing is making contact with the pressure plate, however it drives as though I dont have have a clutch. Tim240z
Did you measure how much the slave is moving the fork?
Guest Anonymous
you know, I didn't, I'll do it today, but lets say I do, how much should it move? The slave is a new part, I replaced it with the clutch
fl327
try adjusting the pedal height? try the bleed again, then try to adjust the pedal, pray you dont have to drop the trans, to bearing may have slipped from the fork arm.
