280zx 2by2 Posted April 15, 2009 Share Posted April 15, 2009 I was wondering what are the specs on the exhaust studs specifically the thread size... all i know so far is that they are 8mm (that's what i have read from my MSA receipt) i ask this because my 2 outside exhaust port bolt heads popped off at some point and time and i couldn't get one of the bolts out and i am just going to rethread it and i don't know what size tap to get... thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

FlatBlack Posted April 15, 2009 Share Posted April 15, 2009 Drill the thread a bit bigger, then thread the new thread with the included 'drill' and then install the helicoil. It's fairly straight forward, you might want to practice on something else first hah. I was really nervous the first time I did it.
