rvandivort
Hi, Anyone had this problem...and how do you solve it? Switched to Vista 6 mo`s ago..installed Norton 360. It thought Megatune was an insidious program. Thanks, Roger
mobythevan
I can try to email it to you as an attachement if you want, just PM me your email address.
cygnusx1
Norton=Yuck Uninstall it and get a lightweight AV program. Can you turn off Norton temporarily...or is it so invasive that you can't even do that?
rvandivort
Please explain lightweight AV program. So far this program has worked. It is very aggresive at eliminating network problems. But, not now.
rvandivort
What do you suggest as another possibilty?
slown280z
Another possibility is to temporarily disable it and download it. Another one is to add the msextra site as "safe." Another is to stop using such intrusive and almost insulting piece of software. Call their tech support and ask why it's block, and how to unblock it if you must keep using it... cygnusx1
AVG, Avira, Spybot SD.....all three in combination don't lag the PC as much as Norton. Best of all, the basic protection versions are free and work for 99% of problems you would normally run into. They are fast at catching bad websites, emails, and protect from system file modifications/replacements without your permission. Norton is overweight and overpriced. Matt Cramer
AVG seems to have a habit of killing Internet connections though. For some reason every PC I installed it on eventually couldn't get online, problem went away when I removed AVG.
cygnusx1
I run AVG Free on about six PC's and none of them fail to connect to eachother, wireless, or wireLAN. XP Pro, XP Home. XP MediaCenter, and Vista
rvandivort
Thanks for all the info guys. Moby backdoored a successful resolution thru My normal email. I am impressed with Norton`s ruthlessness. The lack of which is the reason I had to buy a new computer half a year ago. Thanks again to you all. Roger
mobythevan
If anyone else ever needs open source programs emailed to them just send me a PM. Stuff like megatune, megalogviewer, tuner studio, etc. Just in case you run into a problem like Roger did or the download site isn't working.
