Blobber Posted May 13, 2009 Share Posted May 13, 2009 I have a slight problem with my L28+NA tranny swap. Engine package fits perfectly, but the transmissions shifter doesn't come to the right location. Engine and transmission came from 280zx and the tranny is 5-speed version. After thorough search and reading here I thought that this package would fit perfectly. But not a chance... The body which I'm putting the engine is early 260z. What seems to the problem or have I missed something totally? Previously car had L26 with automatic. Also before installing I measured length from middle of engine mounts to end gearbox and compared it to the old one(L26+automatic), and that was same length. I'm bit confused... BTW.
