rgilp
'72 240Z. I just got the car. The engine appears to be stock but runs good. There's a leak in the exhaust manifold which is pretty rusted and pitted so i'm not sure it worth trying to save. I heard that a header would not help the performance but figured now was the time. What's my best choice for a header?
MikeBZ
Header not help the performance ??? It will flow much better than the srock exhaust manifold. Two choices for a header 6 into 1, or 3 into 2 design Each have there advantages. Search the forums to see which one suits your needs best
johnc
Actually, no. A header on a L6 gives basically no performance gain until additional work is done. The stock L6 exhaust manifold is very well matched to a stock internals engine. The best bang for the buck is the MSA (or any cheap) 2.5" exhaust with a turbo muffler. The Stahl and the Nissan Motorsports headers are the ones most racers choose with the MSA 6 into 1 header coming in third.
