wax
How cool is this. Talk about clean up the engine bay
josh817
Nothing wrong with using a belt drive unless you really want that horsepower right? Actually, I wonder if it even helps. The water pump puts just another load on the alternator, which puts a load back onto the motor so... yah know?
wax
I dont care it looks awesome To be honest i agree its not really needed other than you get constant flow regardless of engine speed so no pump cavitation But it looks awesome
garvice
Waterpump? Looking at electric fans as well? So you still need belt for alternator, but at least it will be a little one.

wax
Ahh easy run the alternator of the drive shaft like we do in the race cars you dont have anything on the engine then . Yes i will be running an electric fan
josh817
Seems like a pain in the ass to do that when you have a pulley right there just shouting out. Then what happens when you come to a stop? Idle off the battery?
wax
yes just idle of battery your engine will go for ages with no charge going in A powerful alternator will top it up in no time as well Im not saying i am going to do it but its what we do in the race cars i work on . Actually the gearbox has a small out put on the back just for that
josh817
Yah I've seen that done on some transaxles for mid engine race cars.
