OR... nullHow an Addiction Begins.....Hello, please allow me to introduce myself...........She had a determined stance and always wore a mischeifes grin. She was "chalk red" though her beauty was undeniable. I think mostly, it was her Spirit that captivated me. Even that she made the voyage here "on the arm of another"...I lusted after all the same.

Thay say you always remeber your first. She was no exception. I courted her for many months. At times I thoght I would finally "score", but only to feel rejected and not see her for many days.I remenise about "third-base" many a lonely night. Her untimely demise caused me much grief. She was used and abused for the last time. The irony is that the man that would not part with her ,gave her one last "thrill-ride" and left her for dead in a ditch. What kind of Man could do this you may ask? Ceartinly not a man of my standards!...........So to make a short story really short....Had a pal, He had a 240 Z,She was a FairLady no less,She wore a Factory (dealer) G-nose,She had "sky line tailights (since the '70's),She also had some goodies in her "purse".......I was a "good pal"...(with alterior motives)...I did some body work...1st Base.........I did some engine work.......2nd Base......I played cheaffour (AND HAD SOME WILD MEMORABLE TIMES)..3rd Base......But my Pal never would sell.................My Pal had a drinking problem (after 10+ D.U.I.'s I think it more than a problem)...Him on a drunk..the car in the ditch...him walking 8 miles to my house....YES, eventually "they" got him..No, I never sent him $ while was in Prision.......I never talked to him again..I can handle the drinking(Drunk People Are Funny!)but to get to the point where you "injure and kill loved ones" and have NO remorse....Pity the man that has No Soul...........Enter "Babe" #2....It was a feeling that I truly thought I would never feel again. She was a bit younger , but that did not matter to me. She was about attitude. She diffenantly had a "Flair about her"..Eneter "The Z of my Dreams"....I Had a girl who had a sister who had a boy who had a Z. The boy had no respect...for car or sister....Sister ditches boy...Boy can't pay bills...Come to find out that the girls' MOM has the title,(she lent him the money to buy the car). Mom has some handy man work that needs to be done.........By the time the "deal" is secured and I pick her up, Several months and much neglect has passed......................... She is a '77 280 Z...somebody had loved her at one time, but ceartinly not the "boy".She wears a deep rasberry-blue metallic sheen riddled with small dents all about the doors. She has the motorsports ground affects package though because it only sits 2" off the ground the front facia has succomb damage via a speed bump.dark Tinted windows that are all scratched up from the raged door felt.Fuel injected l28 runnig on 3 and 3 half cylinders with header and 3" exaust all the way back...........Hello again and greetings..my name is Randy Mellema and I have a project! I just want to say "What a great forum"!. I have been doing my "home work for quite some time now, had it not been for you nice people I may have surrendered to the "Purest Propaganda".I have read alot of the posts and see that this is the place for me. I enjoy that there are so many new ideas and such a free exchange of information and sources. This is truly what the sport is about....So let me tell you about my current situation.I have repaired the front bumper and as I was trying to salvage as much of the paint as possible I decided to air brush some flames. Not bad for my first attempt (rattle can midnight blue base). I painted the head light "socketts" silver and put on a pair of covers.I have shaved the turn sinals and am in the process of doing the door handles....but on to my real dilema..the motor....The plan WAS to build a 3.1 stroker....But today I have realized that this challenge is'nt going to be as rewarding as anticipated.....In short "I NEED SPEED".....Eventually I would like to build a 3.1(maybe in 20 years when the parts are harder to find !)for "****s and grins",but for now I think "bow tie power will suffice. So now I roll out the deals(I thought about posting in the "for Sale", but I would Rather barter!)...I have a low mileage ld28 motor 35,000 miles, an early (8mm bolts?) l24 and a turbo motor and intake manifold. Also I have the l28 that's in the car now(when I first met the "kid" he was braggin' on how "built" the motor was..I don't recall spec.s but the car would fly) the cam looks clean (new) but it has oil in 2 cylinders. It starts up quick(1st try after sitting through winter) I got good deals on some of this stuff, and am willing to pass them on to a fellow Z junky. While I'm not a fool (not completly) ,I'm not unreasonable (not completly) I am on a budget so understand that I can't give this stuff away to who needs it most, but I am willing to trade up/down for parts. I am currently looking for suspension parts and a chevy motor/parts.I am also interested in Scarab (I know JTR,JTR,JTR)NOSTALGIA PARTS. I will post #'s on motors and heads later.........On another note...I posted an add the other day for a ZXT air flow meter...I read an article on upgradeing to this air flow meter because it was bigger (i.e. breathe better) "CheeZer240" replied and wanted to kwon how to identify which his is...I just wanted to clarify what my intentions were..of course now the web site is gone..something like "Planet Z" @ netscape..Any way if this is you or you have done this mod I am still interested in the results...To everyboy that I bothered abot the Air Flow meter.."my Bad"...btw, got any chevy parts.

Thank You Randy

P.s please don't make fun of my spellin' That is just the way I Talk !

Randy, thanks for a good read! I see you've found a new home here - Welcome!

I, for one, am glad to have anyone who loves Z's, cars, people, has an open mind about what to do to the cars you love. Not to mention someone that can right prose like that! icon_wink.gif

Cheers,

Thanks for all the warm welcomes..I've been reading this forum for a few months and thought it was about time to speak my mind.I knew if that there was anybody out there that could identify with my passions they would be here....I live in the Alpharetta area. Do you go to the Georgia Z-club meetings on Jimmy Carter ?

I'm not a member yet, but I do go every once and a while, with Lee (JuJu) who's also a member here. You can check out his car at "Member's Rides" or if you click on my link and look around, his car is there, it's his site.
