MJLamberson
Ive been away for the past few months, Life called, I sign back on for the first time sense march or something to find out I have some unfinished business I was unaware of its being taken care of to the best of my ability now. I dont remember where I left off on here about my Z, so Ill just tell you how it sits now... http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/1214161912.html The truth is that Im not likely to sell it, Ive recently found some motivation and would like to keep the car. Everything was great, well not great, there were kinks in my setup, but everytime one came up I fixed it and it was getting better and better, then I blew my turbo, no biggy, I order a turbo rebuild kit from gpopshop, but my old turbo was sooo rusty all of the exhaust housing bolts broke off, I tried an easy out on the remains but that broke as well. So I traded some spare parts for another turbo only to run into the same problem, only this time I have not broken an easy out inside, I think I am just going to drill them out as best I can and tap the holes. after I do that the car will be on the road once again. I got some new Enkie mesh 92 wheels, idk, not much else has changed. I think once I finish it again Im going to leave it along and save up to buy a porsche 951, Ive been drawn to those cars recently. I really do need help with some motivation though, as you can see, my car is up for sale, Im most likely asking to much, I think thats because I dont actualy want to get rid of it, I just wasnt money to get something new, lol. I fabbed up an exhaust the other day, I want it to be more of a DD when I get it done so I used 2.5 inch with a magnaflow mufler, I have no idea how this will sound, hopefully decent at wide open and silent while cruising. With the l28et conversion on stock boost I had lots of fun beeting 350z's sr20 240sx's, srt4's... it was fun, of course my success was not the same when going from a roll, but with some 205 toyo RA1's my car launched so wonderfuly. I dont have any pics or vids to share, I just thought I would write all of this in case anybody missed me:mrgreen: So there it is, Im back, see you guys around! FlatBlack
Good luck with the turbo rebuild, good to hear you are back. I see you had a MBC on the car, how much boost were you running when the turbo went?
MJLamberson
Stock boost... it was just the oil seals that blew, but I figured I would rebuild the whole thing anyways.
Challenger
Welcome back. Im also curious If I could do as well as your car is. My turbo engine is still in the donor car... I wonder how much of a difference the extra weight of the ZX would make. Only thing I raced was my friends 5.0 and my car kept up. Hope you get it all back together. But remember, get whatever kind of car youll enjoy. We might hate you for selling your Z but youll be happier.
MJLamberson
Yeah, weight makes a big difference, and mine had an NA head and cam, so I figure that gives it a little more power right away, just a lot less potential in the long run. It was a lot of fun... Hey I have a question for you guys, when the car had an open DP it would not build boost without load, when I put half and exhaust system on it I would hit 7 psi easy on a free rev, whats up with that?
